Tweed to Tees Cycle for North East Autism Society

Jelf’s Newcastle office have had a long association with the North East Autism Society as their insurance brokers. To continue the support of the work carried out by all of the staff at NEAS, Newcastle upon Tyne’s Branch Director, John Noone, is taking part in the Tweed to Tees Cycle.

John said: “As a branch, Newcastle upon Tyne has had a long association with a number of leading charities. We wanted to take the opportunity to focus our support on one of these charities this year both in terms of the Jelf ‘volunteer day’ and in helping to raise money. A number of staff worked with NEAS on their Carol Service at Sunderland Minster last year which was a good starting point.

I am taking part in the Tweed to Stockton charity bike ride in June, John Steward, an account executive in Newcastle, is doing the Great North Run for NEAS in September and in October I will be doing the Amsterdam Marathon. We hope to raise £2,000 over the course of the year with support from the Jelf team and insurers”.

The 150-mile cycle challenge allows participants to take in some of the best views of the Northeast, whilst raising money for this worthwhile cause. The route follows the Northumberland Coast from Berwick to Newcastle City Centre, and then tracks the route of the Great North Run before passing the Stadium of Light and New Warlands Farm. This route showcases just how far NEAS services reach.

The North East Autism Society have been working across Tyne and Wear since the 1980s and work alongside people of all ages with autism to empower them to develop and learn skills that will enable them to live a normal life. With your help the North East Autism Society can continue to support children, young people and adults with autism.

The Jelf team here in Newcastle are proud of our association with North East Autism Society and the fantastic work they do in the North East on behalf of the local community and we are delighted to offer our continued support.
